Executive Summary

We built a multi-tenant commerce platform for Indonesian sellers. It combines a seller dashboard, customizable storefronts, Indonesian PG integration, and local shipping. Transactional checkout connects warehouse stock to fulfillment orders while keeping one payment per purchase.

The Problem

OnlineStoreKu needed branded storefronts for Indonesian sellers on shared infrastructure. Each store required its own domain, catalog, and theme. Checkout had to coordinate stock across warehouses, split shipments, and local payments without duplicating orders when buyers or payment providers retried.

Key Technical Decisions

System Design

A NestJS API and PostgreSQL hold the commerce core. Next.js powers the seller dashboard. Express and Edge.js render storefronts from validated theme bundles. Request domains resolve each store, and catalog queries stay store-scoped. One checkout group connects a buyer's payment to warehouse-specific orders.

Key Decisions

Storefront rendering runs separately from seller operations. Theme bundles change presentation without changing checkout logic. Database transactions and row locks protect inventory allocation. Store-scoped idempotency keys make checkout retries return the same purchase. Indonesian PG integration supports branded payment pages with hosted checkout as a fallback.

Implementation Highlights

Configurable themes share commerce workflows and per-store settings. Checkout rechecks stock and creates warehouse-specific orders within one transaction. Authenticated payment callbacks reject underpayments and skip completed settlements. Shipping adapters connect rates, bookings, labels, and tracking. Optional Redis page caching excludes visitor-specific sessions and separates stores by hostname.

Results & Validation

Delivered branded storefronts with custom domains and configurable themes.

Connected warehouse stock allocation and split orders to a single checkout payment.

Implemented Indonesian PG integration with branded and hosted payment flows.

Integrated shipping quotes, courier bookings, labels, and tracking.

Made checkout and payment settlement replay-safe through idempotency and transactional state changes.

Key Insights

Tenant identity must reach catalog queries, order access, and cache keys.

A buyer's payment and a warehouse shipment need separate lifecycles.

Inventory allocation must run inside the transaction that creates the order.

Theme customization works best when payment and fulfillment rules stay in the shared commerce core.

Payment callbacks can arrive more than once. Settlement must check persisted state before applying stock or balance changes.

Who This Applies To

Applicable to commerce platforms and vertical SaaS with branded customer sites. It fits products combining tenant-specific presentation, local payment providers, shared inventory, and multi-warehouse fulfillment.
